Vt. aquarium celebrates lake monster legend

read moreBURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — Lake Champlain's ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center in Burlington, Vt. is hosting a celebration for the lake monster of legend known as Champ. ECHO's CHAMPFEST will feature a history of Champ sightings, portrayals of the creature and more information about the field of cryptozoology. The center says visitors will have a chance to draw Champ and make masks. At 10:30 a.m. on Saturday there will be a story hour for guests 6 and under. Through Sunday, ECHO will show their film about the famous photo by Sandra Mansi that reportedly catches Champ surfacing in the lake.
