They may have been gigantotherms-that is retaining heat on account of their body size. So they would have an active but economic life-style. Perhapse the kety to their sucess.

Yes I would say that much definitely, And there was snow and ice by the end of the age of dinosaurs, we know that from the traces of oxygen isotopes in sea deposits
